Welcoming baby O to the proud parents Jenny and Randy! Perfect timing as I just revamped my website and their session blog will be the first to help me debut the look.

Baby O was the feisty little baby and wanted to party instead at my studio. We got a number of images and we decided it was best to do a lifestyle session as that was where his journey began. The lifestyle session took place 6 weeks later and when you put the newborn and lifestyle photos together, it’s amazing how fast he has grown.  He has such big eyes for a little guy too. Jenny and Randy were so happy baby O was quiet during the lifestyle session. He didn’t snooze but he was quiet and allowed the parents to give him lots of cuddles and attention.

Congrats guys! I’m sure I’ll be seeing him lots at our friends’ party gatherings and I look forward to see how much he grows.

I previously photographed Jenn and Norman’s maternity session at their home in the gorgeous nursery that they prepared for their baby boy. Baby T was 9 days old and he was under 6 lbs  with soft black hair. He is an absolute dream baby for any newborn photographers. Baby T just slept through the whole session without a peep and we even finished early by 30 minutes!  The whole session went smoothly that we were able to pull out three different setting looks before finishing up with family photos. The beanbag is the primary one I use first (gray and then a white textured fabric) , followed with the silver pail and the little bed.

Congrats Jenn and Norman on the newest addition to your family!

Tiny Miss R was only 7 days old when she came to see me for newborn photos in Calgary. She was so light in my arms, under 6 pounds and a complete angel. She gave me a few smiles and I was pleased to capture a couple of them for the parents. Even though she was only 7 days old, she’s quite grown up because she already has a baby tooth!

We were able to get quite a few different poses with her against a yellow backdrop, one of the parents’ favorite colors and then adding in a color pink wrap. Red is another favorite color of the parents and I was finally able to put the red tutu in use. I love her little toes poking out from the tutu!

I tend to prefer color but I always give black and white versions in newborn and maternity sessions. This time, I was strongly attracted to the black and white version when Miss R was swaddled up and smiling at me, along with her wrapped up like an eggs nest. Can’t wait to see which version the parents like 🙂 .

Can’t believe this is my last 2013 client blog post!

I had the pleasure of shooting a sweet little newborn girl for one of my favorite families. I saw the family in October when we had the colorful fall leaves for her maternity session, and fast fward 2 months later, a little girl was born on a freezing week averaging -30c!  I was invited into their home for a lifestyle session and I got to meet the rest of their family, their 3 little dogs.  Very well trained when asked to sit for the camera and look at me!

Miss S was so cooperative through the whole thing she barely woke up and didn’t fuss very much. It’s amazing when I first saw her, I thought she was the exact image of her older brother. Purple is Mom’s favorite color so we were sure to incorporate that in, along with a crocheted blanket Grandma made. Christine also dug up her own pink outfit she wore at the hospital when she was a newborn herself. It fitted Miss S perfectly!

Thank you for contacting me when Miss S was born! You have no idea how flattered I felt everytime you book for a family photo session. I look forward to seeing the two kids grow up.

Enjoy the holidays and early Happy New Year!

This summer has been filled with babies so I got my fills with cuddles from all the little boys and girls. Mr C took awhile to settle in for a little nap but when he did, I had to move fast! His little sister was there too and we managed to get a few photos of her when she wondered over to see what her baby brother was doing.
